Géographie

Elle s'étend sur 144,8 km² dans l'extrême sud-ouest de la région[1] et est limitrophe de l'Andalousie[2].

Histoire

Le 19 octobre 1973 une forte crue touche la ville ; un grand nombre d'habitations sont détruites et près de 90 personnes trouvent la mort. La ville restée fortement marquée par la catastrophe abrite un mémorial en l'honneur des victimes.

Puerto Lumbreras ist eine südspanische Stadt und eine aus dem Hauptort, einer Kleinstadt (Esparragal), einem Dorf (Puerto Adentro), einem Weiler (Cabezo de la Jara) und einigen Einzelgehöften (fincas)[2] bestehende Gemeinde (municipio) mit 15.394 Einwohnern (Stand: 1. Januar 2019) in der autonomen Gemeinschaft Murcia. Bis zum Jahr 1958 gehörte Puerto Lumbreras zur ca. 20 km nordöstlich gelegenen Gemeinde Lorca.
