Géographie

Oponice se situe dans la vallée de la Nitra, à 15 km au nord de Nitra, au pied des monts Tribeč.

Histoire

La première mention écrite du village date de 1218.

Oponice (Hungarian: Appony) is a municipality and village in the Topoľčany District of the Nitra Region, Slovakia.[4] In 2011 it had 879 inhabitants.[5] It is bordered by the Nitra River to the west and the Tribeč range of the Fatra-Tatra mountain complex to the east. Part of the municipality is within the Ponitrie Protected Landscape Area.
