Histoire

Jusqu'au 1^er janvier 1991, Purmerland faisait partie de la commune d'Ilpendam. Lors du rattachement de celle-ci à Waterland, Purmerland passe sous le contrôle de Landsmeer.

De 1538 à 1582, la Maison d'Egmont dirigea le village, puis, de 1678 à 1870, ce fut la Maison de Graeff, une importante famille d'Amsterdam. Le château d'Ilpenstein, construit vers 1622, et ses habitants ont joué un rôle important dans le développement de la région autour de la région Waterland.

Purmerland ist ein Ort in der niederländischen Gemeinde Landsmeer (Provinz Nordholland). Der Ort war ein Teil der vormaligen hogen of vrijen Heerlijkheid van Purmerend en Purmerland sowie der Hauptort dessen nachfolgenden hogen of vrijen Heerlijkheid Purmerland en Ilpendam.[2] Heutzutage befindet sich Purmerland in der Großgemeinde Landsmeer.

Purmerland (pronunciation (help·info)) is a village of 395 (January 2007)[3] in the municipality of Landsmeer, North Holland, the Netherlands. It is located just north of Den Ilp and just south of the housing estate of Weidevenne, part of the city of Purmerend. It is directly connected to both of these as Purmerland, like Den Ilp and Landsmeer is mainly characterised by ribbon building along the main road. Purmerland was part of the Free and high Lordship of Purmerend, Purmerland and Ilpendam.
