Asiago (Italian: [aˈzjaːɡo]; Venetian: Axiago, Cimbrian: Slege, German: Schlägen [ˈʃlɛːɡn̩]) is a minor township (population roughly 6,500) in the surrounding plateau region (the Altopiano di Asiago or Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, Asiago plateau) in the Province of Vicenza in the Veneto region of Northeastern Italy. It is near the border between the Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol regions in the foothills of the Alps, approximately equidistant (60 km) from Trento to the west and Vicenza to the south. The Asiago region is the origin of Asiago cheese. The town was the site of a major battle between Austrian and Italian forces on the Alpine Front of World War I. It is a major ski resort destination, and the site of the Astrophysical Observatory of Asiago, operated by the University of Padua.

La seule frazione de la commune d'Asiago, Sasso, est reliée à la rivière Brenta, près de la municipalité de Valstagna, par un long escalier (4 444 marches), appelé Calà del Sasso.

Asiago (Sleghe in cimbro[4], pronuncia ['zle:gə]) è un comune italiano di 6 386 abitanti[1] della provincia di Vicenza in Veneto. Centro principale dell'altopiano dei Sette Comuni, al confine con il Trentino, fu un tempo capitale della Spettabile Reggenza dei Sette Comuni. Asiago si trovava, dopo l'Offensiva di Primavera nella prima guerra mondiale, nella terra di nessuno e subì dei terribili bombardamenti che la rasero completamente al suolo. È una nota località per il turismo invernale (in particolare per lo sci nordico) e il turismo estivo (escursionismo, mountain bike), la più importante dell'altopiano. Asiago lega inoltre il suo nome a prodotti caseari noti in tutto il mondo.
