Nel paese, noto come località termale, il 30 giugno 1934 i vertici delle SA, riuniti nell'hotel Hanselbauer di Bad Wiessee, furono arrestati, portati in carcere e trucidati, su ordine di Adolf Hitler, nella purga della notte dei lunghi coltelli.

Bad Wiessee ist eine Gemeinde im oberbayerischen Landkreis Miesbach mit 5044 Einwohnern (31. Dezember 2021). Der Urlaubsort, seit 1922 ein anerkannter Kurort, liegt am Westufer des Tegernsees im bayerischen Oberland und grenzt an den Landkreis Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen. Sein Prädikat als Heilbad verdankt Bad Wiessee den beiden deutschlandweit stärksten Jod-Schwefel-Heilquellen, die im Jahr 1909 bei Erdölbohrungen entdeckt wurden. Seit 1957 betreiben die Spielbanken Bayern die Spielbank Bad Wiessee, die seit 2005 im Gemeindeteil Winner liegt.[en] Bad Wiessee
Bad Wiessee (Central Bavarian: Bad Wiessä) is a municipality in the district of Miesbach in Upper Bavaria in Germany. Since 1922, it has been a spa town and located on the western shore of the Tegernsee Lake. It had a population of around 4800 inhabitants in 2014. The word "Bad" means "spa" or "baths", while "Wiessee" derives from "Westsee", meaning "western part of the lake". Bad Wiessee was first documented in 1017 in the tax book of the Tegernsee Abbey, encouraged to pay goods to the abbey.[es] Bad Wiessee
