Géographie

Seeland se situe sur la Selke. Au centre du territoire se trouve le lac artificiel de Concordiasee.

La commune comprend les quartiers de Friedrichsaue, Frose, Gatersleben, Hoym, Nachterstedt et Schadeleben.

Histoire

Hoym, Friedrichsaue, Frose, Nachterstedt et Schadeleben qui forment la Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Seeland fusionnent volontairement pour faire une seule commune le 15 juillet 2009 dans le cadre de la réforme des communes de Saxe-Anhalt. Gatersleben s'ajoute l'année suivante.

Seeland is a town in the Salzlandkreis district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is situated northwest of Aschersleben. It was formed by the merger of the previously independent municipalities Friedrichsaue, Frose, Hoym, Nachterstedt and Schadeleben on 15 July 2009.[3] Before this date, these municipalities cooperated in the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft ("collective municipality") Seeland, which also contained the municipality Gatersleben. Gatersleben joined Seeland in September 2010.[4]
