Géographie

Le village se situe tout à l'est du parc naturel de Kyffhäuser. Au nord se trouve la frontière avec la Saxe-Anhalt.

Histoire

Ichstedt est mentionné pour la première fois en 874 dans une charte signée par Louis II de Germanie. On estime sa création entre 750 et 802. Il y avait un Wasserburg qui est devenu un manoir. Il servait à surveiller le Helme. Durant le XVIII^e siècle et le XIX^e siècle, le village se rénove.

Ichstedt is a village and a former municipality in the district Kyffhäuserkreis, in Thuringia, Germany. Since 1 January 2019, it is part of the town Bad Frankenhausen. The village was mentioned in a charter of Louis the German in 874 for the first time. The village was once a moated castle, which was located on the site of the later manor. By 1918, the town belonged to the principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt.
