Forchtenberg ist eine Stadt im Hohenlohekreis im fränkisch geprägten Nordosten Baden-Württembergs. Sie gehört zur Region Heilbronn-Franken (bis 20. Mai 2003 Region Franken). Die heutige Stadt Forchtenberg entstand 1971/1972 durch Eingemeindung und Zusammenschluss aus den Städten Forchtenberg und Sindringen sowie den Gemeinden Ernsbach, Muthof und Wohlmuthausen.

Forchtenberg is a town in the district of Hohenlohekreis, northern Baden-Württemberg. It lies on the side of a partly fortified hill overlooking the Kocher valley where the Kupfer river flows into the Kocher. The name Forchtenberg is derived from "vor dem Berg" or "before the hill" in English.
