Histoire
Pour la première fois, Selca est mentionnée en 1184 comme une colonie de bergers et puis comme un centre des tailleurs de pierre sur l’île de Brac. Le symbol de Brac est la pierre, laquelle a donné la possibilité de développer l’industrie de la pierre et grâce à quelle des belles maisons, églises et châteaux entourés des parques magnifiques ont été construits. Glavica est une localité suggestive où une église ancienne croate St. Nicolas de XIe siècle avec une coupole est érigée au-dessus d’une ancienne carrière abandonnée.

Selca is a municipality on the island of Brač in Croatia in the Split-Dalmatia County. It has a population of 1,804 (2011 census),[2] 97.17% of which are Croats.[3] Towns included in the municipality are: Selca, Sumartin, Povlja, Novo Selo which are home to numerous historical sites of various importance such as the Parish Church in Selca, which later came to be known as the "Cathedral of Brač", the 18th century church in Povlja, where the Charter of Povlja was found as well as the 10th century Church of Nikola located in Sumartin.- [fr] Selca (Split-Dalmatie)
