Lovran (italienisch Laurana, deutsch Lauran, lateinisch Laurania) ist ein Luftkurort und Seebad etwa 5 km südlich von Opatija, Kroatien und gehört zur Gespanschaft Primorje-Gorski kotar. Der Name „Lovran“ leitet sich von Kroatisch „lovor“für „Lorbeer“ ab. Lorbeeren sind sowohl im Wappen von Lovran als auch in der umgebenden Vegetation üppig vorhanden.[en] Lovran
Lovran (Italian: Laurana, German: Lauran) is a village and a municipality in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Croatia. It is situated in eastern Istria, on the western coast of the Kvarner Bay with a population of 4,101 in the municipality and 3,336 in the village itself (2011 census).
