Géographie
La ville-district est traversée par le cours d'eau Wanghai.
Démographie
La population du district était de 545 684 habitants en 1999[2].
Culture
Patrimoine
La ville conserve des murailles fortifiées datant de la dynastie Ming (1368 – 1644). Des Grans canons Hongyi (zh) (红衣大炮) étaient placés aux quatre angles des fortifications la ville.

Xingcheng (simplified Chinese: 兴城; traditional Chinese: 興城; pinyin: Xīngchéng), former name Ningyuan (宁远),[4] is a county-level city of southwest Liaoning province, China, with a population of approximately 140,000 urban inhabitants, and is located on the Liaodong Bay, i.e. the northern coast of the Bohai Sea.
