Wuchang (chinois : 武昌区 ; pinyin : wǔchāng Qū ; EFEO : Wou-tch'ang) est un district du centre de la ville sous-provinciale de Wuhan. Il est situé sur la rive droite du Yangzi Jiang. Avant d'être intégrée à Wuhan, Wuchang était une ville indépendante.

La ville est citée sous le nom de Ou Tchan Fou ou de Ou Tchang Fou dans les récits missionnaires du XIX^e siècle. C'est le lieu du martyre de François-Régis Clet et Jean-Gabriel Perboyre.

Le 10 octobre 1911, le soulèvement de Wuchang a marqué la fin de la dynastie Qing et le début de la République de Chine.

Transports

La Gare de Wuchang est, avec la gare de Wuhan et la gare de Hankou une des trois gares ferroviaires de Wuhan.

Différentes lignes de métro et de bus parcourent le district.

Der Stadtbezirk Wuchang (chinesisch .mw-parser-output .Hant{font-size:110%}武昌區 / .mw-parser-output .Hans{font-size:110%}武昌区, Pinyin Wǔchāng Qū) ist ein Stadtbezirk der Unterprovinzstadt Wuhan, der Hauptstadt der Provinz Hubei in der Volksrepublik China. Wuchang forms part of the urban core of and is one of 13 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China. It is the oldest of the three cities that merged into modern-day Wuhan, and stood on the right (southeastern) bank of the Yangtze River, opposite the mouth of the Han River. The two other cities, Hanyang and Hankou, were on the left (northwestern) bank, separated from each other by the Han River.
