    Histoire


    La région est historiquement habitée par le peuple Kootenay. Les premiers explorateurs européens y parviennent au début du XIXe siècle, dont David Thompson en 1909[2]. Les colons commencent à s'y installer vers les années 1880 et la ville est constituée en 1924.


    Économie


    La brasserie Columbia Brewery, filiale de InBev, est l'une des principales industries de Creston. Elle est la seule brasserie canadienne à produire les marques de bière Kokanee, Kokanee Light, Kokanee Gold, Kootenay Mountain Ale et Kootenay True Ale[3]

    Creston ist eine Kleinstadt im südöstlichen British Columbia, Kanada. Die 5.000 Einwohner-Kleinstadt liegt im Regional District of Central Kootenay, etwa auf halber Strecke zwischen Castlegar und Cranbrook. Sie liegt rund 10 Kilometer nördlich der Grenze zu den Vereinigten Staaten von America.

    Creston is a town in the Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia, Canada. By road, Creston is roughly equidistant between Cranbrook (105 km (65 mi) to the east) and Castlegar (124 km (77 mi) to the west) along the Crowsnest Highway. The town is approximately 12 km (7.5 mi) north of the Porthill-Rykerts Border Crossing on the Canada–US border.[3]
