For governance purposes it forms the local service district of the parish of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes,[3] which is a member of the Northwest Regional Service Commission (NWRSC).[4]


Origin of name


The parish takes its name from the Roman Catholic ecclesiastical parish.[5]


History


Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes was erected in 1922 from Sainte-Anne Parish.[5]

In 1946 Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes was affected by the major reorganisation of Madawaska County parish boundaries.[6]
