Barra Velha, amtlich portugiesisch Município de Barra Velha, ist eine Gemeinde im Bundesstaat Santa Catarina im Süden Brasiliens. Die Bevölkerung wurde zum 1. Juli 2021 auf 30.539 Einwohner geschätzt, die Barra-Velhenser genannt werden und auf einer Gemeindefläche von rund 138,9 km² leben.[1] Sie liegt am Südatlantik auf einer Höhe von 35 Metern über Meeresspiegel. Sie ist Teil der Metropolregion Norte-Nordeste Catarinense.[en] Barra Velha
Barra Velha is a resort town and county seat of about 30,000 inhabitants in the Northern region of Santa Catarina, Brazil. Its nine beaches extend from the Rio Itapocu in the North to the resort town of Piçarras on its Southern border. Additionally, it is the only resort in the area to have a freshwater lake separated from the ocean by an old sand bar, from which it derives its name.[fr] Barra Velha
