Hardegg (German pronunciation: [haʁˈdɛk] (listen)) is a town in the district of Hollabrunn in Lower Austria, Austria. It is situated in the Waldviertel region on the river Thaya, directly on the border with the Czech Republic. The Thaya valley is protected as the Thayatal National Park, adjacent to the Podyjí National Park on the Czech shore.[fr] Hardegg
Hardegg est une ville autrichienne frontalière de la République tchèque. Commune du district de Hollabrunn en Basse-Autriche, elle est arrosée par la Thaya. Jusqu'à la chute du Rideau de fer, Hardegg était une bourgade isolée. Encore aujourd'hui, seul un pont franchissant la Thaya permet passage vers Čížov, en République tchèque.
