Handan (chinois : 邯郸市 ; pinyin : Hándān shi) est une ville de la province du Hebei en Chine. Sa population était estimée en 2004 à 1 390 000 habitants pour le centre urbain, et à 8 499 000 pour l'ensemble de la préfecture. On y parle le dialecte de Handan mais la plupart des habitants parlent le mandarin standard. Le climat est plus agréable en hiver.

Histoire

La ville a été la troisième capitale du royaume de Zhao, à l'époque des Guerres d'unification de Qin, de -386 à -228.

Économie

En 2005, le PIB total a été de 115,7 milliards de yuans, et le PIB par habitant de 13 360 yuans[2].

Handan hat insgesamt 9.413.990 Einwohner (Stand: Zensus 2020), davon leben 919.295 (Stand: Zensus 2010) in der städtischen Siedlung. Während der Zeit der Streitenden Reiche im 4. und 3. Jahrhundert v. Chr. war sie Hauptstadt des Reiches Zhao (趙). In der Stadt gibt es eine Stahlindustrie, die vom nahegelegenen Steinkohlenbergbau begünstigt wird. Das Montanunternehmen Handan Iron and Steel hat seinen Firmensitz in Handan.

Handan is a prefecture-level city located in the southwest of Hebei province, China. The southernmost prefecture-level city of the province, it borders Xingtai on the north, and the provinces of Shanxi on the west, Henan on the south and Shandong on the east. At the 2010 census, its population was 9,174,683 inhabitants whom 2,845,790 lived in the built-up (or metro) area made of 5 urban districts. Yongnian District in Handan and Shahe City in Xingtai have largely formed into a single conurbation.
